As for my artistic and general experience of life, our relationship with colors usually varies following the periodic alternation of the seasons, during the year.
Each season has, therefore, also according to my artistic perception, its own colors... those colors expressing, better than others, the "energy frequency" of the current season.
I find that the periods of transition, which are less and less defined, for some time now, tend to share the colors of the two alternating seasons ... Passing, for example, from winter to spring, green and yellow, which for me are among the most characteristic colors of spring, begin to make their presence stronger, in all fresh new buds and spontaneous flowers in the country or mountain fields... There are other colors too, of course, but bright greens and yellows are the dominant ones for me, as for their "energy frequency".
The focus on colors and their connection with the seasons inevitably leads me to extend my thoughts to the specific "energy frequency" of each season. That frequency, at a subtle level, ie referring to the experiences beyond the common sensory experiences, clearly affects our emotional, psychological and spiritual dimension of being ...
Then, the color of winter par excellence, white, immediately evokes that hushed atmosphere that is felt on the ski slopes, in the early hours of those calm and clear days, with no wind or other strong atmospheric phenomena... maybe after a heavy snowfall at night...
… And my mind, my heart, my soul "fly away", into Another Dimension...
… Just an effect of the white color? Of course not... But, at the same time, also definitely yes...
Even though, especially for the eyes of an artist painter, that white is rarely really white, it’s true that it is labeled by our brain as white...
On this matter, a very interesting parenthesis could be opened... Maybe soon, by proposing some video on practice, experimentation, meditative painting on the YouTube platform...
Who knows !?!...
It’s on the list of things I’d find useful and interesting to do...
Coming back to the connection between colors and seasons, the colors of winter are also the warm tones of the flames of our home fireplaces, around which we usually find warmth and comfortable shelter, on all levels…
… the orange of citrus peel and pulp, so precious gift for our physical well-being during winter; a season that sees us normally attacked, more than at any other times of the year, from annoying viruses that aim to break down our immune defenses, strengthened instead by the precious C vitamin present in citrus fruits...
Some important healing effects are usually attributed to the orange color, not only physically, but also mentally, psychologically and spiritually ...
It’s not by chance that orange is the color of the tunic of so many monks and oriental sadhus, who dedicate their lives to the spiritual Search, with the aim of finding well-being and liberation...
All that said can’t be only explained as a mere coincidence...
When we go on diving deeply into our existence, beyond the common shallow "feeling" of it, spontaneously we get to feel such kind of things... more and more clearly and intensely…
… and life becomes richer an richer and full of Sense...
Let's give it a chance and get believing in that kind of things…
... also by "arting", making art with colors and brushes, allowing ourselves to be taken by hand by the "seasonal" colors ...
…
Let’s keep following these scattered crumbs...
… they bring Far…
… and Near, at the same time...
Let’s follow the way of the soul…
Have a great Journey dearest soul-friend...
